Raoul Felder

Raoul Felder is one of the world's most powerful lawyers. Raoul Felder is one of the world’s best known and most powerful divorce lawyers in the country, having been the legal counsel in over 30,000 cases in his more than 50 years of practice.  His fields of expertise in family law include divorce, custody issues, pre-and post-nuptial agreements, paternity cases, and in September 2020, Mr. Felder merged his practice with one of the nation’s preeminent and widely known and respected divorce and family law firms based in New York – Stutman Stutman & Lichtenstein – to create a “super firm”  with more than a century of collective experience, Stutman Stutman Lichtenstein & Felder.

Raoul’s long list of clients have included internationally-renowned film stars, musicians, Fortune 500 and other business executives, superstar athletes, elected officials and royalty.  These have included Rudy Giuliani, Mike Tyson, Alec Wildenstein, Sharon Bush, Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, and the wife of His Highness, the Aga Khan.  In paternity cases, he has represented the mothers in cases against Mick Jagger, Tom Jones, Peter O’Toole, and Sean Combs, among many others.

He is the author of nine books, including The Good Divorce; Divorce: The Way Things Are, Not the Way Things Should Be; and Bare-Knuckle Negotiation: Savvy Tips and True Stories from the Master of Give and Take.  He is a frequent commentator on television shows and networks around the world, including CNN, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today Show.  Raoul has been featured in The New York Times, Newsday, Harper’s Bazaar, New York Magazine and The Washington Post.  He sat on the original Board of Advisors for Court TV, and hosted his own show on WLIW-TV.

Raoul graduated from New York University with a B.A., studied medicine at the University of Bern College of Medicine in Switzerland, and received a JD from New York University School of Law. Soon after, he passed the bar exam and opened a private practice which he operated until he was named Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York by Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.  Afterwards, he returned to private practice.

Raoul is an Honorary Fellow in jurisprudence at Oxford University.
